POSITION SUMMARY Based in Alpharetta, GA, Bako Diagnostics is actively seeking a Medical Writer/Editor to join our growing marketing team to write and edit high-quality, medically relevant Bako digital and print educational/marketing articles for assigned podiatry/research/therapeutic areas to fulfill medical, scientific, laboratory, and health economic objectives. This medical writer / editorwill also ensure successful preparation of high quality submission-ready journals/presentations/documents; deliver effective implementation of writing process, and serve as Bakos medical writing expert for the organization. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES Interact with physicians, employees and clients in a positive manner consistent with the mission and values of Bako Diagnostics. Develop, edit, and manage the production of Bakos educational / marketing white papers, journals, brochures, scientific presentations etc. for clients, patients, and payers Collaborate with lab area stakeholders to incorporate marketing strategies, scientific platforms, and value messages into Bakos digital/print. Collaborate with content contributors to develop and/or edit responses to address specific requests for health outcome information Analyze and interpret scientific data to update or develop comprehensive, balanced, credible and accurate documents that comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidances and policies and procedures, and are used to appropriately respond to inquiries from clients, patients, payers and health care providers. Provide medical writing support where required throughout the organization. Perform literature searches for drafting Bako content. Understand, assimilate, and interpret sources of information with appropriate guidance/direction from manager. Interpret and explain data generated from a variety of sources, including internal and external studies, research documentation, charts, graphs, and tables, and verify the results are consistent with study data Manage and prioritize multiple projects, provide solutions to complex problems, and deliver complete and accurate information within deadlines Identify and propose solutions to resolve issues and questions arising during the writing/review process, including resolution or elevation as appropriate Maintain awareness of current industry practices that pertain to professional medical writing as supported by the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA), Corporate Policies and Procedures. Must continually train/be compliant with all current industry and company requirements Comply with the reporting of adverse effects, and or product complaints to governing bodies as required. OTHER COMPETENCIES/SKILLS REQUIRED Ability to research and review clinical content effectively and translate clear and concise messages. Excellent communication skills (oral and written). Must have outstanding analytical and research skills. Must have the ability to decipher complex clinical and statistical data. Requires an understanding of clinical regulatory documentation requirements. Proficient computer skills, specifically with the use of MS Word templates and style features, Excel, and PowerPoint. Displays knowledge of standard editorial/style conventions (e.g., AMA Manual of Style). Proven ability to manage multiple projects and to work well in a collaborative environment. Ability to work independently and be a team player. QUALIFICATIONS BS/BA or equivalent level of professional experience will be considered; knowledge of Federal a guidelines. 3 6 years experience working within the medical and clinical writing field. Podiatry, Dermatology, Pathology Laboratory and/or Clinical Research Organization experience is preferred. American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) or comparable Certification preferred Success in this position requires effective interpersonal, and communication skills, as the medical writer/editor interacts directly with marketing and project team members from other departments.
