Sundae is looking for an entrepreneurial New Business Director to bring their talent, their ideas, their own distinct flavor and mix it up with some of the most purposeful brands and talented creators in the world. We need a hustler who will drive the overall new business strategy, build and aggressively manage a strong new business pipeline, and is someone who instinctively knows how to win.
We’re looking for a strategically minded marketer can also help clarify Sundae's unique offerings in the broader marketing communications category. We want a self-motivated leader who takes a ton of initiative, sets ambitious but achievable goals to ensure our business growth strategies are being met, and builds enough runway for the company to succeed.
As one of the first key hires, the New Business Director will report into the Managing Director / Co-Founder and play a critical role in helping to build the future of Sundae.
Collaboratively drive Sundae’s go to market strategy and lead new business efforts inclusive of evolving and maintaining our business development materials (credentials, case studies, etc)
Aggressively build and manage a highly qualified new business pipeline
Prioritize and manage prospects through the new business process knowing we need to strategically focus our limited time and attention
Significantly reduce conversion times from 3-4 months to < 1 month
Draft and negotiate client SOWs
Develop annual targets, track monthly forecasts, optimize plans in real time
Create and manage a marketing/PR plan that clarifies Sundae's unique offerings in the broader marketing communications category
Work closely with the Creative Director, Creator team, Head of Data Science, and Tech Lead to develop marketing materials that strengthen Sundae’s narrative for targeting prospective brand partners
Identify organic revenue growth opportunities that maintain/increase SOWs
Keep a pulse on competitor capabilities to continually inform what we should prioritize and how we should expand Sundae’s capabilities year-over-year
Develop relationships with external agencies/partners to get Sundae on their ‘recommended partners’ list
Develop strategic relationships with social partners including Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest
Background & Qualifications
BA/BS degree with 6+ years of related new business experience at a top media agency, ad-tech company, advertising agency, digital/social agency, influencer network, publisher or MCN.
Proven success in delivering clear, strategic presentations to C-level marketing executives with a solid new business track record
Passion about Influencer marketing and the opportunity to fundamentally disrupt the category
Self-motivated, extremely flexible, proficient at multi-tasking, and able to deal with rapid change in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Sees ambiguity as an amazing opportunity to build and define the future
Successful track record of working in a creatively-driven organization
Deeply familiar with all major social media platforms including Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest
Ability to act as an authoritative, thoughtful, trusted partner to clients, demonstrating exceptional client management skills
Highly informed about the latest media industry topics and trends
Able to define, articulate, and defend a clear POV for Sundae
Strong communication and writing skills
Highly collaborative creative/analytical problem solver that can navigate through difficult issues and build consensus to drive business results
