Adweek’s content studio is expanding its editorial team. If you’re curious and creative, with experience in developing great content that people love to read, watch or otherwise and engage with, we want to hear from you.
Branded (that’s the name of the studio) produces native thought leadership and lead-generation content for a wide range of companies that want to reach the top brand marketers, agencies and publishers that read Adweek. The associate editor will be a key member of the content studio team, driving our executions to make sure they’re high-quality, on-brand and serving both our readers and our sponsors.
The ideal candidate for this position will be:
- An experienced storyteller who can turn complex topics into engaging and useful content
Someone who knows how to create content from various brands’ perspectives
A strong, hands-on editor who can make sponsored content as compelling as pure edit is
A creative thinker who can come up with new and exciting ways for content stand out
Bonus points if you’ve got experience in video scripting, research and data visualizations, as well as experience in (or a fascination with) the brand marketing/advertising world and the technology that powers it today
- Writing: Lead or contribute to various projects, including articles, videos, infographics, interactives and other content.
- Editing: Take an active red pencil to contributed text to ensure readability, style and voice
Creative: Pitch concepts and use your subject knowledge to come up with ideas that meet brand and audience needs
Managing freelancers: Work with freelance contributors (writers, videographers, scripters), assign stories and edit what you get back to ensure it meets project requirements, continually recruit new contributors
Client interaction: Be a content “consultant” to advertisers to help them come up with great executions
Project management: Work with project managers to keep sponsored content on time and on budget
- 2 - 4 years experience editing and/or writing content
Experience in content ideation and production for either a news organization or a brand
An understanding of the digital marketing space
Understanding of tone and voice
Ability to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders
A positive attitude and sense of humor help
