Digital Media Reporter

Position: Digital Media Reporter

Adweek is seeking its next great reporter covering the digital media beat. The ideal candidate will have a voracious appetite for all things digital media: from emerging content to legacy publishers. You'll come armed with deep sourcing from the worlds of print and digital publishing. You'll stay ahead of media trends and write daily stories for our digital platforms as well as longer-form print articles. You'll work alongside a talented and team-oriented group of reporters, editors and artists, reaching an audience of millions across Adweek's print, digital and social platforms.

The position requires at least 5 years of reporting experience at a major news site, trade publication or equivalent operation. As an Adweek reporter, you will be a part of an industry-leading team that covers the brand marketing ecosystem and all of its facets, including advertising, branding, technology, TV and more. You will work closely with our media team on stories involving video entertainment, sports and news programming. You'll be expected to work at a fast pace while submitting clean, compelling copy and cover major industry events.

Primary Responsibilities:

-- Cover the digital media industry, including publishers, video content creators, multi-channel networks, social influencers, streaming video services and the evolving nature of online content.

-- Work closely with the TV/media editor, television reporter and other media team staffers to create comprehensive coverage plans for major events, topics and themed content packages, in print or online.

-- Contribute consistently to Adweek's print edition, while also producing daily content for Adweek.com and taking part in Adweek's podcasts.

-- Coordinate video projects alongside Adweek's video production team, ranging from live videos to produced videos on topics central to your beat.

-- Travel frequently, both within New York City and to industry events in other markets, to cover events that are within your coverage areas.

Requirements:

-- Minimum 5 years of relevant journalism experience
-- Wide breadth of knowledge and curiosity on digital media topics

-- Strong knowledge of AP style, grammar and modern storytelling
-- Rock-solid ethics and an even-tempered personality
-- Comfort and ability on camera

-- Strong use of social media for professional networking and content sharing

Education requirement: Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field

We offer competitive compensation commensurate with experience, along with a very generous benefit package that includes medical/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, paid vacation/personal/sick/company holidays, 401K plus a company match, tuition reimbursement, FSA, commuter discounts and an engaging and rewarding work environment!

To apply, send a resume, cover letter and five examples of relevant writing experience or content creation to linda.mazziotto@adweek.com
