Strategic Marketing, Summer Internship
Scholastic Book Fairs, in partnership with schools around the country, hosts more than 127,000 block-sale events each year, reaching over 2 million teachers, and more than 35 million children and their families in pre-school through 9th grade. Book Fairs provide students, teachers and parents' access to thousands of affordable books and educational products and is responsible for putting more than 100 million books in the hands of children, helping to foster enthusiasm for reading and generating more than $90 million annually in books and resources for schools.
Scholastic Book Fairs is looking for a Strategic Marketing Intern to join us this summer.
The Summer Internship Program will give students an opportunity to gain experience in a variety of Scholastic businesses. As an Intern you will learn from the best minds in the industry and contribute to the success of an industry leader. This is a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic group within an organization dedicated to the education of children. Responsibilities will include:
Assisting in creating program document like but not limited to SPARK, SKO, POS, and workshops.
Guide the quality and direction of assigned projects from conception to completion; maintain project workflow; seeking information, approvals, and resources needed to meet time and content requirements.
Prepare weekly reports and evaluations for the regional teams and monthly PAB/CAB meetings.
Assist with preparations for Seasonal Kickoff meetings, Reading Summits and National Conventions.
Assist with weekly mailings to regional marketing contacts, principals and media specialists.
Partner closely with the Marketing and Online groups to develop, implement, and communicate support tools.
Provide administrative support where needed across a variety of programs and projects.
Help us leverage social media in our roll out of internal and external programs.
Open to currently enrolled College Students, this internship is designed to offer undergraduate or recent graduates an opportunity to gain hands on experience during the summer.
The program will run for 12 weeks beginning Monday, May 21, 2018 through Friday, August 10, 2018
Paid $12.00 per hour and work a 35 hours per week
Current college enrollment
Skills in presentation including Power Point
Skilled in the use of different social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
Demonstrated ability to manage time and multiple commitments / projects simultaneously
Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills that apply to multiple organizational levels.
Ability to be flexible, adapt to change and work in a fast pace environment.
A team player with solid interpersonal skills.
Flexible on hours
WHAT YOU LL NEED:
- Qualified candidates should be a College Student at an accredited College or University
- All students must be in good academic standing and have strong computer skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be able to work 35 hours per week
